Glasgow Accountant

After years of working as an accountant and running my own business, I saw a gap in Glasgow’s accounting landscape—not a shortage of firms, but a shortage of real relationships.

I kept hearing the same thing from business owners and freelancers alike:

  • “I never hear from my accountant unless I chase them.”
“They used to care, but now it feels transactional.”
“I just want someone who gets how my business actually works.”

That’s why I started my practice—rooted in Glasgow, built for people who value honesty, clarity, and support that goes beyond the basics.

That’s me in the photo, usually flanked by the dogs. Top right, Munro—caught mid-pounce as a pup, paw right in the eye. In the middle, Nevis—flat on his back, demanding belly rubs. And bottom left, Daisy—our late companion and the real CEO of the house—always watching, especially when snacks were involved.

Why I Work Differently

I’ve been in this profession since I was a teenager. I started as a modern apprentice, worked through tax, payroll, compliance, and qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant—passing all my exams first time and fast-tracking my qualification in just 97 days.

But here’s the thing: none of that matters unless it helps you make better decisions.

I don’t just see balance sheets—I see business owners taking risks, trying to grow, trying to sleep at night. That’s why I work the way I do: no call centres, no handoffs, no hiding behind a receptionist. If you’re my client, you deal with me. Directly.

Not Just Returns and Reports

YYes, I file accounts. Yes, I handle VAT, tax, payroll, and compliance. But the real value? It happens in-between.

It’s the conversation in August that saves you in December.

It’s remembering you were hiring and checking in before you sign the contract.

It’s knowing how you work—so advice actually fits your business.

A Better Model—Smaller, Smarter, Fairer

I keep my client list intentionally small so I can do the job properly. I don’t rent fancy offices. My costs are lean, my pricing is fair, and I don’t bill for things that don’t add value.

I’m not here to compete with the biggest firms. I’m here to offer something better:

More personal. More thoughtful. More honest.

If that sounds like the kind of accounting relationship you’ve been looking for, let’s talk.
